There is a reason why people say that children are born with a blank slate, which happens to be true. They are no born with any idea of what is right or wrong, what is beautiful or not and so on. However, as they grow older and learn, they then end up adopting the values presented by their family, society and the media they consume. No child will think pimples are ugly unless they were told that they were beforehand. Which is why it is important for us to remember the impact these messages have and how they are not always right or telling the entire truth.
So, we might be told that perfectly even skin is ideal and desirable, however, it is rarely present and requires a lot of work to be maintained as well. Our skins go through discoloration as a result of different things, be it exposure to sunlight, excessive acne, pregnancy, aging etc. So, really, if anything it’s actually more natural to have discolored skin than an evenly-toned one. However, you will still come across articles and posts like treatments for skin discoloration etc. on magazines and online after every few weeks. Of course if your discoloration is something that makes you uncomfortable in your own body, then you have the right to get the treatment you deserve, however, if you are fine with the discoloration on your skin, you do not have to feel compelled to hide it in front of other people.
In a nutshell, put on makeup if you want to cover everything or don’t do it if you don’t like makeup. The decision to get or not to get treatment is all your decision, because at the end of the way, you need to do what you can to be comfortable with yourself and how you look in order to stay stable in life.
